Statin Alternatives

More than have high cholesterol, a condition that could eventually lead to a heart attack or stroke. Along with this, the percentage of adults taking cholesterol-lowering medications is rising. 

Statins are one of the more common types of medications used to treat high cholesterol. But, like any type of medication, statins come with their own side effects and are not beneficial to everyone. Fortunately, there are other ways to lower cholesterol levels. PCSK9 inhibitors are a new class of medications that may become a viable alternative for those who can’t take statins.
